Newsletter: Call Trace & Event Statistics
added to GL's Protocol Analyzers
Welcome to the second November Issue of GL Communication's Newsletter providing information and insight into the latest product introductions and reviews
GL has updated its Protocol Analyzers and Network Surveillance System to include "Real-time Call Trace and Protocol Event Statistics". These features provide a wealth of capability for a variety of telecom applications, including: network monitoring and surveillance, revenue assurance / billing verification, CALEA related needs, fraud detection, and performance monitoring / quality of service.
GL's T1 or E1 cards provide the physical non-intrusive connectivity to multiple T1s, E1s, and Ethernet traffic links simultaneously. The collected data can be locally displayed or routed from multiple probe points to a Centralized Server. The overall architecture of the Network Surveillance System is addressed at "https://www.gl.com/web-based-network-monitor-analysis-wireless-ip-tdm.html"
Main Features and Applications:
Real-time Call trace and Protocol Event Statistics are provided for the protocols listed below.
- SS7 - https://www.gl.com/ss7-protocol-analyzer.html
- ISDN - https://www.gl.com/isdn-protocol-analyzer.html
- GSM - https://www.gl.com/gsm-network-protocol-analyzer.html
- GPRS - https://www.gl.com/gprs-network-protocol-analyser.html
- GR-303 - https://www.gl.com/gr-303analysis.html
- V5.x - https://www.gl.com/v5analyzer.html
- SIP - https://www.gl.com/packetgen_packetscan-all-ip-packet-analyzer.html
Protocol Event Statistics are also provided for the following:
- HDLC - https://www.gl.com/hdlc.html
- ATM - https://www.gl.com/atmanalyzer.html
- Frame Relay - https://www.gl.com/framerelay.html
Some typical applications for this capability are:
Comprehensive Call Data Records (CDRs) for Revenue Assurance - The " Real-time Call Trace" view displays call statistics such as number of active/completed calls, durations, start, and stop time of calls, failed calls, busy calls, called and calling party numbers, release causes, etc. Great for billing verification. The CDRs can be easily exported to CSV format for post processing or routed over the network to a Central Server for remote online or offline processing.
Detailed Counts for Visibility - "Statistics" view displays statistics based on frame count, byte count, frames/sec, bytes/sec etc for any link or entire link set.
Zoom In for Problem Resolution - Combine real-time filter and search capabilities with statistics and call trace to pinpoint specific events such as fraud.
Isolate and Analyze Problem Calls - Diagnose problem calls easily. Ability to filter and display the complete signaling of any call from the thousands of calls being recorded.
Increase Visibility into Link and Protocol Performance - Analyze link reliability, performance, utilization, packet distributions and other quality of service metrics.
Please review these links and give us a call if you are interested in GL's products/software for this or other applications. We would be happy to consult with you on solutions to your testing needs and we look forward to hearing from you.
