T1 E1 and T3 E3 Solutions for Testing Signaling and Media Gateways
GL Communications Inc. is pleased to share the latest edition of our newsletter, providing valuable insights into our Signaling and Media Gateways Test Solutions.
Overview
Gateways convert signaling and traffic from legacy TDM/PSTN networks to modern Ethernet/IP networks. As a result, test solutions for Media Gateways must emulate and analyze elements on both sides of the network.
Media gateways enable data transmission and reception over the Internet. A Media Gateway Controller (MGC) facilitates signaling between media gateways and the IP network. Comprehensive test solutions with diverse interfaces, applications, and functionality are employed to fully test the Media Gateways.
GL provides a comprehensive range of media gateway test solutions. These solutions emulate various elements within a hybrid TDM-VoIP network and test the interconnection between different networks, whether it is IP-IP, TDM-IP, or TDM-TDM.
Ethernet & T1 E1 Solution with Media Gateway
GL's T1 E1 Analyzer connects to the Media Gateway device and tests signaling and traffic between Ethernet and TDM networks. The T1 E1/Media Gateway combination provides an easy-to-use and automated solution for generating and receiving multiple calls. It supports different types of voice band traffic, including digits, tones, voice, and fax. Supported signaling options include ISDN, SS7, and CAS.
Ethernet & T3 E3 Solution with Media Gateway
GL's T3 E3 Analyzer connects to the Media Gateway device to test signaling and traffic between Ethernet and framed or unframed T3/E3 networks. It supports analysis and emulation of ATM, PPP, HDLC, and Frame Relay signaling in Unchannelized (Unstructured) mode, facilitating smooth transmission of traffic over a full T3 or E3 connection.
The Channelized (Structured) feature of the T3 E3 Analyzer utilizes a "software-only" approach to provide direct access to all 2x28 T1s or 2x21 E1s or 2x16 E1s on a T3/E3 line per board. This allows for analysis and monitoring of various aspects, such as different T1/E1 framing formats, physical layer alarms, and payload, all within a single PC.
